The memory of nature

In “The memory of nature” for string quartet, one main themed harmony runs through the entire work, corresponding to the base color of the painting “The Memory of Nature” by Korean artist Chuljoo Suk. Through alternation of stillness and movement, the piece creates the feeling of vividness as when a grass blows in the wind. The hidden tonal harmony and melody pop in and out like children running wild all around the grass.This work expresses the strength of the grass, an element that the artist of the original work sought to express as well.
